Your chef for the evening
I won’t just show you how. I’ll show you why.
I’m Kevin. I trained on Lake Constance, at the Ringhotel Krone in Schnetzenhausen, and finished in 2013 as the best in my year at the chamber of commerce. After that I cooked wherever it appealed to me: at a hotel on the lake with 40 weddings a year, in fine dining in Winterthur, in Australia and New Zealand. Most recently I ran a large kitchen serving around 950 meals a day. Since 2021 I’ve been in my own kitchen at zwölf87.
What I took away from all those kitchens: if you cook well, you don’t need a recipe. You need to know why a sauce thickens, when the pan is hot enough and how much acidity a dish can take. That’s exactly what I give you in one evening. No show, no stars, just techniques and principles you’ll use again at home the very next day.
That’s why the group stays small. I don’t want to go beyond 12, it wouldn’t do the evening justice.
Kevin Schupp, head chef and host at zwölf87
How an evening works
Everyone cooks everything. Then we eat.
We don’t split into groups that each make one course. At stations you cook the whole menu together, and everyone is part of every course.
17:00
Arrive
An aperitif, a quick hello, then you get your apron and your tools.
Understand
We dive into the theme of the evening: the basic technique behind it and what really matters.
Cook
Course by course the whole menu comes together: soup, a side made by hand, a main course with seasonal vegetables, dessert. With time for questions and tasting.
until 21:30
Enjoy
Everyone at one table, with what you’ve cooked. You get the evening’s recipes digitally afterwards.
Everything included.
Ingredients, kitchen equipment and apron, aperitif, wine, beer, soft drinks, water and coffee. You get the basics and recipes of the evening digitally afterwards.

For friends, family and companies
Your own cooking evening.
Birthday, family celebration, team event or simply an evening with friends: from eight people, the kitchen is yours. We agree the date and theme with you.
You cook one menu together, just like in our open classes, with up to 12 people. Or you do it the way many companies do: in small teams you make different dishes that all go on the table at the end to share, with up to 15 people. An invoice to your company is no problem.
Give a cooking class
An evening people talk about for a long time.
Pick a date, tick “Book as a gift” when booking and enter who’s coming. The confirmation and bank details go to you, and you pass the class details on.
And if the person you’re giving it to can’t make it after all, someone else simply comes instead. Just tell us the name.
We gave the cooking class … to our brother for his 30th birthday – and it was simply a complete success! … The atmosphere was relaxed, we had an incredible amount of fun cooking together and at the same time picked up lots of new tips and tricks.

Cooking class with overnight stay
And then just stay.
One more glass of wine at the table, then it’s only a few steps to your room. The class is at Hotel traumwerk and you sleep in the same building: no taxi, no journey home, and the next morning the old town is right outside the door.
Simply book your room with us directly at the hotel.
Frequently asked questions
Where does the cooking class take place?
At Hotel traumwerk, Schulgasse 10, 88214 Ravensburg. Not at the restaurant in Bachstraße.
How long does a class last?
About four and a half hours, from 17:00 to 21:30. We start with an aperitif, cook the whole menu together and then eat together.
How do I pay?
By bank transfer. After booking you’ll get an email with the bank details and amount. Please pay within 7 days, or within 2 days if you book at short notice, and your place is confirmed.
What if I can’t make it after all?
Up to 14 days before, you can cancel free of charge and get a full refund. After that we can’t refund anything, but you’re welcome to send someone in your place. All the details are in the terms of participation.
Will the class definitely go ahead?
Our classes run with a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 12 participants. If fewer people have signed up, we’ll let you know in good time. You can then switch to another date or get a full refund, whichever you prefer.
What if the class is fully booked?
Then add your name to the waiting list on the page for that date. We’ll get in touch if a place comes free or an extra date is added.
Do I need any previous experience?
No. We start with the basics, cook together step by step and explain why we do things the way we do. All you need to bring is an appetite for it.
Do I know beforehand what we’ll cook?
You know the theme of the evening and the plan: soup, a side made by hand, a main course with seasonal vegetables and a dessert. What exactly ends up on the table, you’ll find out on the night. We care less about a particular dish than about understanding what’s behind it. Let us know about allergies or intolerances when you book and we’ll plan for them.
Can we do this for our company or group?
Yes, from 8 people we’re happy to set up a date just for you, as a classic class with up to 12 people or as a team event with shared dishes for up to 15. If there are fewer of you, it still works: we then work with a minimum spend of €1,000. The calculator shows roughly what your evening will cost, or write to us directly. An invoice to your company is no problem.
